01. Overview of urban rail transit
China's urban rail transit system is diverse, including subway, light rail, municipal express, tram (including railcars), cross-seat monorail, hanging monorail, self-guided track system, rail-type rubber wheel system, electronic guide wheel system and magnetic levitation. In the previous issue, we introduced four of these formats, and this issue will focus on the remaining six formats, one of which is the cross-seat single track.
◇ Cross-seat monorail
The trans-seat monorail is known for its unique operation mode, which is characterized by a single track beam supporting the vehicle operating, the track is located below, and the vehicle is driving above the track beam. This system is technically challenging, but it has attracted research and development from many companies, including Hitachi Japan, Canada's Bombardier, China Railway and BYD.
◇ Other systems
Other formats, such as suspension monorails, self-guided rail systems, rail wheel systems, electronic-guided rubber wheel systems, and magnetic levitation, also play an important role in urban rail transit. Different systems have their own characteristics to meet the needs of different cities.
02. Cross-seat single track detailed
◇ China Railway four-way speed 70 km/h single track
The single-track vehicle of the four sides the car Its cross-seat monorail vehicle has a length of 14.6 meters, a width of 3.098 meters, a height of 4.3 meters, and a width of 85 cm. The vehicle is powered by a DC1500V third rail and is equipped with a four-wire (auxiliary wheel) biaxial bogie and six-wire (auxiliary wheel) biaxial bogie to suit different speed needs. At present, there is no operating line for the cross-seat single track of the four sides of the Chinese car, but the test line has been established in the Qingdao Sifang factory, which has laid a solid foundation for future promotion and application.
◇ Hitachi, China long passenger single track
Hitachi's cooperation with China's long-distance passenger single track has been operated in Chongqing and has carried out localization innovation. Its vehicle size is 14.6 meters long, 2.98 meters wide, 5.3 meters high, and the width of the track beam is 85 cm. The vehicle uses the DC1500V third-track power supply system on the rail beam side and is designed to have a speed of 70 kilometers per hour. Its bogie is designed as a six-wire (auxiliary wheel) double axle, ensuring the stability and handling of the vehicle at high speed.
◇ Bombardier Monorail
Bombardier's single-track design is suitable for stability at high speeds. Its vehicle size is: the head and tail car length of 13.21 meters, the middle car length of 11.845 meters, width of 3.142 meters, high 4.053 meters. The width of the rail beam is 65 cm, and the DC750V third-track power supply system on the orbital beam side is used, and the design speed is 70 kilometers per hour.
◇ BYD Cloud Track
BYD Cloud Rail's innovative design makes it stand out in the market for high cost performance. The vehicle size is: the head and tail car is 14 meters long, the middle car is 10.88 meters long, the width is 3.15 meters, and the height data is not detailed. The monorail beam width is 70 cm, using the DC750V third-track power supply system on the orbital beam side.
03. Suspension monorail and guidance system
3.1 ◇ Longines-type hanging monorail
The Longines monorail is known for its asymmetric design and practical application in Upothar, Germany. This type of suspension monorail, known for its unique design, can be seen in its practical application in the monorail system in the German city of Wuppertal.
3.2 ◇ Asymmetric suspension wheel monorail
This monorail is widely used in the Chinese market and is reflected in the mature technology of major enterprises. In terms of design and performance, it shows the strength of Chinese enterprises in the field of rail transit.
3.3 ◇ Automatic guidance orbit system
The self-guided orbit system improves the intelligence and operational efficiency of vehicles through advanced automatic guidance technology. Among them, Bombardier APM and Mitsubishi AGT are representatives of the system.
04. Electronic and magnetic levitation technology
4.1 ◇ Electronically oriented orbit system
The ART smart rail technology from CRRC provides a flexible solution to the limitations of long buses. The system uses optical guidance technology and can operate flexibly even without a physical orbit.
4.2 ◇ Maglev technology
Maglev technology is efficient and stable, despite high energy consumption, but can achieve fast driving. The TR08 car with Shanghai magnetic levitation is a representative application of this technology.
